1+3 students can apply for any course, but for those that ask for an A Level (UK qualification) in a specific subject, we will make decisions on a case-by-case basis, depending on your qualifications.

Portfolios are required from 2+2 students only.

Your portfolio is not just your chance to show us why you deserve a place at Lancaster, it is your chance to practice structuring an assignment, referencing and 'reflecting' on your learning. These are skills that you will need when you come to Lancaster.

This guide will help you to understand what we are looking for in a good portfolio by using examples from real students work.

All Undergraduate 1+3 applications to Lancaster University should be made via the UCAS website using UCAS Apply and Track.

Please find attached detailed instructions for creating an account in MoveOn and completing the application form.

The deadline for applications is the end of the first semester in Year 2. You can save your application as you go, so do not need to wait until you have all of the required documents to start your application.

For the application you will need to complete your personal and academic information and upload documents, such as a personal statement, a reference, a course transcripts (or a list of courses and grades) along with a scan of your passport and IELTS certificate, if you have them.

If you have any questions, please ask your teacher first and they can pass on your query if they are unable to answer it.

How to Submit

Portfolios are required from 2+2 students only.

Please submit your portfolio via Moodle openlearning HERE 

The deadline for submitting your portfolio is Sunday 16th June 2019.

What to Submit

Please submit one main portfolio document. This is compulsory.

You can also submit up to 4 other additional documents such as group or individual reports, presentations, posters, or other coursework you would like to show us. This is optional.

Please convert your documents to PDF where possible.

About Plagiarism

(similarity to other published or student work)

If you don't know what plagiarism is please see the 'Referencing and Avoiding Plagiarism' document in the 'Academic Information' section above. Plagiarism is a serious offence at Lancaster and all students need to know what it is, what the penalties are and how to avoid it.

At Lancaster we submit all coursework to through 'Turnitin', which checks the work against online journals, books and other students' work (from current and previous years) for instances of plagiarism.

We may submit the portfolios through Turnitin.
